Small Stuff

Since I've started making my own patterns, my projects have been getting a little too big for their britches. I love dramatic fonts, but that means hours and hours of stitching - so I decided to give myself a break and do a couple of cuties this week.

Inspired by the show Firefly:

I'll be in my bunk.

and this is just an old chestnut that I heard most recently on You Look Nice Today, but they used to use this line on Mystery Science Theater 3000 A LOT. It never failed to make me laugh:

This is awkward.

I'm about to start working on the Obama pattern from Subversive Cross Stitch for my Mom's Christmas present. Anyone who heard the story of the Obama sign in episode 16 of Emergency Pants knows she'll love it! I'm also still working on a portrait that beelisty put together for me, and I have some plans for some modified samplers in my future. My fingers are gonna HURT.

Eeek! I replaced the picture with a less blurry one, that must have broken the link. I think it's fixed now. Being happily married for 10 years and also somewhat of a prude in my personal life, I have never experienced the "are you still here" moment myself, but it makes me laugh.

As someone who mainly works on massive pieces of stitchery, sometimes it is nice to get some quick wins. At the moment my blog overhauling has meant I've done very little stitching, but I'm determined to finish that Panika piece before the year ends!
I like these pieces and look forward to the Obama one, which I'm assuming won't need covering with Honey. Unless your mum really wants to... :)

Thanks Jamie - I'm hoping Mom doesn't feel the need to smear honey on the Obama stitch, but then again, this is my mother we're talking about. :D

Aww, thanks Rachel! *^_^*
